Clockwise's product was no longer available starting March 27, 2026. Clockwise said so on its own site.
If you used Clockwise to put personal events onto a work calendar as Smart Holds, sharing a Google Calendar is not the same job. Sharing is a view. Other people booking the work calendar do not automatically treat those events as busy.
Reclaim, OneCal, and Morgen write copies or private events onto a destination calendar. Resync does that job for Google calendars only: it writes hold events titled Busy, with no source titles or attendees.
Clockwise also created Focus Time, moved Flexible Meetings, and offered scheduling links. Those are a different product. Resync does not do them. Clockwise recommended Reclaim for that AI-scheduling replacement.
What Clockwise did for calendar sync
Clockwise was an AI calendar product. On shutdown it listed two kinds of work it had been doing:
- Cross-calendar blocking: Personal Calendar synced events were Smart Holds Clockwise wrote onto another calendar so coworkers could see you as busy.
- AI scheduling on a calendar: Focus Time, Travel Time, Meeting Breaks, Flexible Meetings that Clockwise moved, and Scheduling Links. Clockwise said those holds and links were removed on March 27, 2026.
This page compares options for the first job — writing busy time onto a calendar other people book. It does not rank AI schedulers except to say which products also ship that extra layer.
Clockwise site and the vendor pages linked below checked Oct 31, 2026. Clockwise's live knowledge base returned an error that day, so Personal Calendar Sync details come only from the shutdown page, not from older help articles.
Built-in option: share or subscribe in Google Calendar
Google's free path is still to share a calendar from account A to account B, or copy the secret address in iCal format and Add by URL. B sees A under Other calendars.
What sharing does not do
- It is a view. A's events stay on A's calendar. They do not become events on B's calendar.
- Other people booking B do not automatically see A's busy time. B's booking page only checks extra calendars if B's owner turns that on and selects them. Checking secondary calendars needs an eligible Workspace or Google One plan.
- Work or school admins can limit or block external sharing. You can also grant See only free/busy (hide details) or See event details. Google Calendar Help does not publish a refresh interval you can set for URL subscriptions.
How Resync's Busy holds work
Resync does not share calendars with each other. It reads when you are busy on Google calendars you mark as sources and writes hold events onto Google calendars you mark as mirrors.
- Holds are titled Busy. Description, location, attendees, and conference data are left empty, so source meeting details stay on the source calendar.
- When you mark calendars as both source and mirror, a booking on either calendar becomes a Busy hold on the others. That is two-way blocking between those Google calendars.
- If a source event moves, Resync updates the hold. If the event is cancelled, marked free, declined, or is a working-location event, Resync does not keep a hold.
- Resync looks 90 days ahead when it reads source events. Holds it writes are marked so they are not copied again.
- If you delete or edit a hold, Resync records that and does not recreate it for the same source event on that mirror.
- Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors. Resync currently syncs Google calendars only.
Use sharing when you only need to see the other calendar. Use Resync when the Google calendars that get booked should treat the other account's busy time as busy. Use Reclaim, OneCal, or Morgen when you also need Outlook, iCloud, or an AI planner.

Who each option fits
- Google built-in. You only need to see the other Google calendar yourself. Sharing or an iCal URL subscription is enough. It is the wrong tool if other people book the second calendar and should treat the first calendar's busy time as busy.
- Reclaim. You want Clockwise-like AI scheduling — Habits, Focus Time, Smart Meetings, scheduling links — and you also need Calendar Sync that writes copies onto Google or Outlook. Clockwise recommended Reclaim for that replacement.
- OneCal. You need to mix Google, Outlook, iCloud, or CalDAV, and you want to choose how much detail clone events carry. OneCal documents real-time Google and Outlook updates. Resync cannot cover those other providers.
- Morgen. You want an AI daily planner and can accept Calendar Propagation that runs once a day for the next 14 days. Use it when a same-day hold is not required.
- Resync. The calendars that get booked are Google calendars, and you want Busy holds with no source titles, attendees, or locations. Resync does not move meetings, create Focus Time, or offer scheduling links.
- Motion. You want an AI planner that syncs events between Motion and a connected Google, Outlook, or iCloud calendar. Motion's help pages we checked do not document writing busy holds from one of your calendars onto another.
Motion is in that list only as a caution. Its help center documents event sync between Motion and a connected calendar, not holds from calendar A onto calendar B. See also Motion's Calendar Syncing FAQ.
Set up Resync
- Sign in with GoogleOpen Resync and sign in with the Google account you want as your primary account. You land on setup.
- Connect another Google accountChoose Connect another Google account and finish Google's permission screen. Resync needs at least two Google accounts before you can start.
- Start syncingWhen a second account is connected, setup shows bidirectional mirroring as the intended default: real events on either side become private busy blocks on the other. Choose Start syncing to open the dashboard.
- Mark sources and mirrorsIn Sync configuration, turn on Source to read busy time from a calendar and Mirror to receive Busy holds. A calendar can be both. Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors because Resync needs write access to create holds.
FAQ
Did Clockwise shut down?
Yes. Clockwise's own site says the product is no longer available starting March 27, 2026. Smart Holds Clockwise created — Focus Time, Travel Time, Meeting Breaks, and Personal Calendar synced events — were removed. Scheduling links stopped working. Clockwise recommended Reclaim for AI-powered scheduling.
What did Clockwise do for cross-calendar sync versus AI scheduling?
Personal Calendar synced events were Smart Holds: Clockwise wrote blocks onto another calendar so coworkers could see you as busy. That is a different job from Focus Time, Flexible Meetings, Travel Time, Meeting Breaks, and Scheduling Links, which Clockwise used to rearrange or protect time on a calendar. Resync only does the busy-hold job, and only for Google calendars.
Does sharing a Google Calendar replace Clockwise personal calendar sync?
No. Sharing lets the other account overlay that calendar under Other calendars. It does not write those events onto the calendar other people book. Appointment-schedule booking pages only check extra calendars if that account's owner turns that on and selects them, and checking secondary calendars needs an eligible Workspace or Google One plan.
Which option writes Busy holds across Google calendars without copying titles?
Resync does. It reads busy time from Google calendars you mark as sources and writes holds titled Busy onto Google calendars you mark as mirrors. Description, location, attendees, and conference data stay empty. Reclaim's Busy for All privacy and OneCal's hide-titles setting can also show a generic busy block; those products also sync Outlook, which Resync does not.
Does Resync sync Outlook or iCloud?
No. Resync is a Google Calendar app. It does not write holds into Outlook or iCloud. If you need those providers, Reclaim documents Google and Outlook Calendar Sync, OneCal documents Google, Outlook, iCloud, and CalDAV, and Morgen documents Google, Outlook, iCloud, and Fastmail for Calendar Propagation.
What if I delete a Busy hold that Resync created?
Resync records that change and does not recreate a hold for the same source event on that mirror calendar.
Connect the Google calendars you want to keep aligned, then mark sources and mirrors on the dashboard.
Resync will ask Google for permission to:see your list of calendars; see events on the calendars you choose as Sources, to know when you're busy; and create, update and delete events titled "Busy" on calendars you choose as Mirrors. We never store event titles, attendees or locations. Privacy policy
