See Google Calendar in Apple Calendar
Adding the Google account is the official way to put Google events in the Calendar app that comes with the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Google Calendar Help calls this view and edit sync: you can add and edit events from either Google Calendar or Apple Calendar, and those changes write back to the Google calendar. You cannot create new Google calendars from Apple Calendar, and email notifications and Room Scheduler do not work there.
iPhone and iPad
On current iOS and iPadOS, Apple Support documents Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account, then Google. Google Calendar Help still documents Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add account → Google. Both add the same Google account to Apple Calendar. To sync only calendars, turn Mail and Contacts off. For an account that is already there, tap it and turn Calendars on.
- Open Settings, then Calendar Accounts, then Add Account, then Google, and finish sign-in.
- Open the Calendar app, tap Calendars, and check the Google calendar you want to view.
- If you want new events to land on Google, set Default Calendar to that Google calendar under Settings → Apps → Calendar.
Shared Google calendars that are not listed under My calendars may also need Google's Calendar sync page: check the names, save, then refresh Apple Calendar. If events look right on calendar.google.com but missing on the phone, use the not-syncing guide.
Mac
Apple Support documents Calendar → Add Account, then choose Google and finish sign-in. You can also manage the account under Calendar → Settings → Accounts or add Google in System Settings → Internet Accounts and turn Calendar on. Google Calendar Help still says Calendar Preferences → Accounts → Add → Google, then Refresh Calendars. The calendars appear in the sidebar. Use View → Show Calendar List if the list is hidden.

See iCloud calendars in Google Calendar
Google Calendar cannot sign in to iCloud. The official path is to publish the iCloud calendar, then subscribe Google to that URL. Apple documents a Public Calendar on iCloud.com. People who subscribe can view it and cannot change it. Anyone with the link can see the events on that calendar.
- On a computer or tablet, go to icloud.com/calendar and sign in. Hold the pointer over the calendar, open its options, turn on Public Calendar, and copy the link. On a Mac you can also select Public Calendar in Calendar, then share the link. On iPhone, tap Calendars, tap the iCloud calendar, turn on Public Calendar, then tap Share Link.
- On a computer, open Google Calendar. Next to Other calendars, choose From URL, paste the public link, and add the calendar. Google Calendar Help says you add a calendar from URL on a computer, not in the Calendar app.
What a public iCloud link does not do
- It is one-way. Edits in Google Calendar do not write back to iCloud.
- Google refreshes the feed on its own schedule. Changes can take hours. There is no refresh button and no frequency setting. The Google Calendar subscribed calendar not updating? Fixes covers stale From URL calendars.
- Anyone with the public link can view that calendar. Turn Public Calendar off when you no longer want the link to work.

Switch with a one-time .ics copy
If you are moving off iCloud rather than keeping both calendars in sync, export a calendar file and import it into Google. That is a snapshot. Later iCloud changes do not follow.
- On a Mac, select the calendar, then choose File → Export → Export and save the .ics file.
- In Google Calendar on a computer, open Settings → Import & Export, choose that file, pick the destination calendar, and import. Guests and conference data are not imported.
Google Calendar Help says imported events do not stay in sync. A later export and import can leave a second copy. The copy events guide covers export and import between Google calendars.

Android
There is no Apple Calendar app on Android. The Google Calendar app can show Google calendars, and it can show a From URL calendar after you add that URL on a computer. It cannot sign in to iCloud or open Apple Calendar.
- To keep seeing iCloud events, publish the iCloud calendar and add the public URL From URL in Google Calendar, then select that calendar in the Android app menu.
- To move off iCloud, export a .ics file and import it into Google. That copy will not keep updating.
Showing several Google accounts together in the Google Calendar app is in the multiple-accounts guide. Resync does not connect iCloud on Android.
True two-way iCloud and Google
Apple's account sign-in is two-way for Google calendars inside Apple Calendar. It does not copy iCloud calendars into Google Calendar, and it does not copy Google events onto an iCloud calendar. The public-link path is one-way into Google.
If you need live two-way sync between iCloud calendars and Google Calendar, that takes a third-party calendar sync tool that connects both accounts. Those tools vary in what they copy, how fast they refresh, and whether they write busy holds or full events. This page does not name, rank, or price them.
The Outlook guide covers the same kind of ICS limit between Google Calendar and Outlook.

Troubleshooting
Start with where the events are missing. If they are on calendar.google.com and only gone from Apple Calendar, stay on the device. If an iCloud public calendar is stale in Google Calendar, that is Google polling the URL.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|
| New events land on the wrong calendar | Apple Calendar has a default calendar for new events. It may still be an iCloud calendar after you add Google. | On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Default Calendar and choose the Google calendar you want. You can move an event to another calendar after you create it. |
|---|
| Google calendar missing in Apple Calendar | The Google account is missing, Calendars is off for that account, or the calendar is unchecked in the Calendars list. | Add Google in Calendar Accounts, turn Calendars on, then tap Calendars in the Calendar app and check the calendar. Shared calendars outside My calendars may also need Google's Calendar sync page. |
|---|
| iCloud events stale in Google Calendar | A From URL subscription is a polled copy. Google fetches it later. There is no refresh button. | Confirm the iCloud calendar is still public and the URL still works. Wait for Google's next fetch, or remove and re-add the URL. See the subscribed calendar guide. |
|---|
| Apple Calendar is slow to show Google changes | The Google account may not use Push. Fetch only runs on the schedule you set, or automatically when the iPhone is charging and on Wi-Fi. | Go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Fetch New Data. Under Fetch, choose a schedule. On a Mac, Calendar → Settings → Accounts has Refresh Calendars. |
|---|
| No Apple Calendar app on Android | Android does not include Apple Calendar. iCloud events are not on the phone unless you bring them into Google. | Add the iCloud public URL From URL in Google Calendar on a computer, or export a .ics file and import it. Then the Google Calendar app can show those events. |

When Resync helps (and when it does not)
Resync works only with Google Calendar accounts. It does not sync Apple Calendar, iCloud, Outlook, or other calendars. Use the official steps above to see Google in Apple Calendar or iCloud in Google Calendar. Use Resync only if the real goal is keeping several Google calendars or Google accounts in sync.
If your Apple Calendar is just showing multiple Google accounts and you want them to block each other, Resync can do that on the Google side. It reads when you are busy on Google calendars you mark as sources and writes hold events onto Google calendars you mark as mirrors. $1.50/month or $9/year after a 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
- Holds are titled Busy. Description, location, attendees, and conference data are left empty, so source meeting details stay on the source calendar.
- When you mark calendars as both source and mirror, a booking on either calendar becomes a Busy hold on the others. That is two-way blocking between those Google calendars.
- If a source event moves, Resync updates the hold. If the event is cancelled, marked free, declined, or is a working-location event, Resync does not keep a hold.
- Resync looks 90 days ahead when it reads source events. Holds it writes are marked so they are not copied again.
- Resync watches source calendars with Google push notifications and updates holds when those events change. A polling fallback also runs about every 5 minutes.
- If you delete or edit a hold, Resync records that and does not recreate it for the same source event on that mirror.
- Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors. Resync currently syncs Google calendars only.
Set up Resync
- Sign in with GoogleOpen Resync and sign in with the Google account you want as your primary account. You land on setup.
- Connect another Google accountChoose Connect another Google account and finish Google's permission screen. Resync needs at least two Google accounts before you can start.
- Start syncingWhen a second account is connected, setup shows bidirectional mirroring as the intended default: real events on either side become private busy blocks on the other. Choose Start syncing to open the dashboard.
- Mark sources and mirrorsIn Sync configuration, turn on Source to read busy time from a calendar and Mirror to receive Busy holds. A calendar can be both. Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors because Resync needs write access to create holds.
FAQ
Can I sync Apple Calendar with Google Calendar two ways?
Yes for Google calendars inside Apple Calendar. Add the Google account on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Google Calendar Help says that signing in with Google lets you add and edit events from either Google Calendar or the other app, so events you create on that Google calendar sync both ways. That is not two-way iCloud-to-Google sync. Seeing an iCloud calendar in Google Calendar takes a public calendar link added From URL, which is one-way and read-only.
How do I add Google Calendar to Apple Calendar on iPhone, iPad, or Mac?
On current iOS or iPadOS, Apple Support documents Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Google. Google Calendar Help still documents Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add account → Google. Turn Calendars on, then check the calendar in the Calendar app's Calendars list. On a Mac, Apple Support documents Calendar → Add Account → Google, or Calendar → Settings → Accounts. You can also add Google in System Settings → Internet Accounts and turn Calendar on.
How do I see an iCloud calendar in Google Calendar?
Share the iCloud calendar as a Public Calendar from iCloud.com, Calendar on a Mac, or the Calendar app on iPhone or iPad, then copy the link. In Google Calendar on a computer, add it under Other calendars → From URL. The subscription is read-only. Anyone with the public link can view that calendar. Google re-fetches the feed on its own schedule, often hours later. There is no refresh button.
Does Google Calendar update a subscribed iCloud calendar right away?
No. A calendar added From URL is a read-only ICS copy. Google Calendar Help does not publish a refresh interval you can set and does not document a refresh button. Changes can take hours to appear. The subscribed calendar guide covers stale From URL feeds. Sharing a Google calendar is a live overlay; a public iCloud URL is not.
Can I sync Apple Calendar with Google Calendar on Android?
There is no Apple Calendar app on Android. To see iCloud events in Google Calendar, publish the iCloud calendar as a public link and add it From URL on a computer, or export a .ics file and import it as a one-time copy. New iCloud events will not appear on Android unless you keep that public subscription or move the events to Google.
Does Resync sync Apple Calendar or iCloud?
No. Resync works only with Google Calendar accounts. It does not sync Apple Calendar, iCloud, Outlook, or other calendars. If Apple Calendar is only showing several Google accounts and you want those Google calendars to block each other, Resync can write private Busy holds on the Google side. $1.50/month or $9/year after a 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
Connect the Google calendars you want to keep aligned, then mark sources and mirrors on the dashboard.
Resync will ask Google for permission to:see your list of calendars; see events on the calendars you choose as Sources, to know when you're busy; and create, update and delete events titled "Busy" on calendars you choose as Mirrors. We never store event titles, attendees or locations. Privacy policy
