Quick diagnosis
Start with where the events are missing. If they are on calendar.google.com and only gone from one phone or app, stay on that device. If they are gone on the web too, fix the source calendar or the share before you change phone settings.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|
| Missing only on iPhone | Apple Calendar or the Google Calendar app is missing the account, Calendar sync, or a checked calendar. Shared calendars often need a separate toggle. | Open calendar.google.com first. Then add Google in Settings, turn Calendars on, and check the calendar in the Calendars list. Use Google's Calendar sync page for calendars that are not under My calendars. |
|---|
| Missing only on Android | Account sync for Calendar is off, the calendar is hidden in the app menu, or the app has not refreshed. | In Android Settings, open the Google account and turn Calendar on under Account sync. In the Google Calendar app, select the calendar in Menu. Menu → Settings → the calendar → Sync on, then Menu → Refresh. |
|---|
| Missing only in Samsung Calendar | Samsung Calendar is a different app. Auto sync, the Google account Calendar toggle, or Manage calendars may hide that Google calendar. | In Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts, turn Auto sync on and enable Calendar for the Google account. In Samsung Calendar, open Menu → Manage calendars and show the Google calendar. |
|---|
| Some calendars missing | Secondary calendars you created, holidays, or other calendars stay hidden until you select them. The primary Events calendar does not have the same Sync toggle. | In the Google Calendar app, tap Menu and check each calendar. On Android, Menu → Settings, Show more if needed, and turn Sync on for calendars you created. |
|---|
| Shared calendar missing | The share was removed or limited, the calendar is unchecked in the app, or Apple Calendar was never told to sync that shared calendar. | Confirm the calendar still appears on calendar.google.com. Check it in the app list. For Apple Calendar, use Google's Calendar sync page, then refresh. See only free/busy shares may not sync to Apple Calendar. |
|---|
| New phone | The new phone does not have the Google account yet, Calendar sync is off, or events lived only on the old phone's on-device calendar. | Add the Google account and turn Calendar sync on. Events that exist on calendar.google.com will appear. A local or on-device calendar from the old phone does not come along. |
|---|
| Missing on desktop or web | The browser tab is signed into a different Google account, the calendar is hidden, a From URL feed has not refreshed, or the share is gone. | Sign in to the account that owns or was shared the calendar. Select it in the left list. A subscribed-by-URL calendar waits for Google's next fetch. Check the Google Workspace Status Dashboard if many people are affected. |
|---|
| Outlook not showing Google events | Outlook is subscribed to a Google iCal feed, or a classic Outlook import was a one-time snapshot. Those paths are one-way and delayed. | Use Microsoft's Google-in-Outlook steps, or import again only if you want another snapshot. Outlook on the web can take more than 24 hours. Resync does not connect Outlook. See the Outlook guide. |
|---|
| Apple Calendar on Mac | The Google account is not added in Calendar, Refresh Calendars is slow, or shared calendars were not selected on the Calendar sync page. | In Calendar, choose Calendar → Add Account → Google. Set Refresh Calendars. Check calendars in the sidebar. Use Google's Calendar sync page for calendars outside My calendars, then refresh. |

iPhone and iPad
Decide which app you mean. The Google Calendar app and the Calendar app that comes with the iPhone are not the same. Events can be right in one and missing in the other.
For the Google Calendar app, Google Calendar Help says: check your internet connection, update the app, make sure the calendar is visible, and confirm new events are added to a Google account. The app only syncs past events up to one year. If those steps fail, Help documents removing the account from the app and adding it again: tap your profile photo, then Manage accounts on this device, then Remove from this device.
For Apple Calendar, Google Calendar Help documents adding Google in Settings, then Calendar, then Accounts, then Add account, then Google. Apple Support for current iOS documents Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts. Both add the Google account to Apple Calendar. To sync only calendars, turn the other services off. For an account that is already there, tap it and turn Calendars on.
- In Apple Calendar, tap Calendars and select the Google calendar you want to view. An unchecked calendar looks like a sync failure.
- If the account does not support Push, Apple Support documents Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Fetch New Data. Under Fetch, choose a schedule. Automatically downloads when the iPhone is charging and on Wi-Fi.
- Shared calendars that are not listed under My calendars in Google Calendar may need the Calendar sync page. Google Calendar Help documents that page for Apple Calendar.
Seeing work and personal Google accounts in one Google Calendar app is in the multiple-accounts guide. Resync does not sync Apple Calendar or iCloud and does not change those Settings toggles.

Android and the Google Calendar app
Google Calendar Help says events you create appear on every device where you are signed in. If they are on calendar.google.com and missing in the Google Calendar app, stay on the phone.
- Check Wi-Fi or mobile data. The app needs a network.
- Update the Google Calendar app from the Play Store.
- Open the app, tap Menu, and select the calendar. A hidden checkbox looks like missing events.
- In the device Settings app, open Passwords, passkeys & accounts (or About phone → Google Account), select the Google account, tap Account sync, and turn Calendar on.
- In the Calendar app, tap Menu → Settings, open the calendar (Show more if needed), and turn Sync on. Google Calendar Help says that Sync setting is for calendars you created, not the primary calendar, which is usually called Events. It might take some time for events to show after you turn sync on.
- Tap Menu → Refresh to sync now.
Android Help says Battery Saver limits or turns off background activity, so some apps may be delayed. Google Calendar Help also says the Calendar app stops syncing if the device is running out of storage, and that you can limit sync to while you use the app to save data and battery. If you turned Calendar off under Account sync to save battery, events will not refresh in the background.
Adding another Google account from your profile photo is in the multiple-accounts guide.

Samsung Calendar
Samsung Calendar is not the Google Calendar app. It can show Google accounts next to a Samsung account calendar. Samsung Support says the Calendar app can connect to online accounts such as Google, and that you add those accounts from Manage calendars.
- Open Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts. Turn Auto sync data on.
- Open the Google account, tap Sync account, and turn Calendar on. Samsung Support also documents More options → Sync now.
- Open Samsung Calendar, tap Menu, then Manage calendars, and show the Google calendar. Samsung Support also documents Menu → Sync now.
Samsung Support notes that menu names can vary by model and software. If events exist in the Google Calendar app but not in Samsung Calendar, the Google account or that calendar is usually hidden in Manage calendars. Resync does not change Samsung Calendar settings.

New phone
A new phone does not inherit Google Calendar events until you add the Google account and turn Calendar sync on. Events that already exist on calendar.google.com should appear after that. Events that lived only on the old phone do not.
- Add the Google account in the Google Calendar app from your profile photo, or add it in the device account settings and turn Calendar sync on.
- Google Calendar Help documents a local account as a calendar saved on your phone or created by another app. That on-device calendar stays on the old phone unless you export it. It is not in your Google Account.
- After you sign in, select each calendar in the new phone's app menu. Shared calendars still need the same visibility and, for Apple Calendar, the Calendar sync page.
If you also use Apple Calendar on a new iPhone, add Google in Settings and turn Calendars on. Resync does not move on-device calendars and does not set up a new phone.

Shared calendars
A shared calendar is an overlay of someone else's calendar, not a copy on yours. If it disappeared everywhere, the owner may have removed you or changed the permission. Confirm it still appears under Other calendars on calendar.google.com before you change phone settings.
- In the Google Calendar app, tap Menu and select the shared calendar. Shared calendars are easy to leave unchecked.
- On Android, Menu → Settings, Show more if needed, and turn Sync on for that calendar if Help shows the control.
- For Apple Calendar, Google Calendar Help says calendars under My calendars, plus Birthdays, sync automatically. Other calendars use the Calendar sync page: check the names, click Save, then refresh Apple Calendar. In the iPhone Calendar app, also check the calendar in the Calendars list.
- Google Calendar Help does not document that a See only free/busy share will sync to Apple Calendar. If the owner only granted free/busy, use the Google Calendar app for that overlay, or ask for See event details if company policy allows it.
A calendar added From URL is not a share. It refreshes on Google's schedule. Those steps are in the subscribed calendar guide. Adding a work calendar to personal Gmail is in the work calendar guide.

Outlook and Apple Calendar on Mac
These apps subscribe to Google or sign in as an account. They are not the Google Calendar app, and Resync does not connect them.
For Outlook, Microsoft documents seeing your Google Calendar in Outlook by pasting Google's secret iCal address into Subscribe from web. That feed is read-only. Outlook on the web can take more than 24 hours to refresh a subscribed calendar. A classic Outlook .ics import is a snapshot and does not keep updating. The full ICS steps, including the other direction, are in the Outlook guide.
For Apple Calendar on a Mac, Apple Support documents Calendar → Add Account, then choose Google and finish sign-in. Google Calendar Help documents Calendar Preferences → Accounts → Add → Google, then Refresh Calendars. View → Refresh Calendars refreshes calendars on that Mac. Shared calendars outside My calendars still use the Calendar sync page.

When it is Google's side
If events are missing on calendar.google.com for more than one person, or the web app itself will not load, check the Google Workspace Status Dashboard before you reset a phone. Google posts Calendar incidents there.
A From URL calendar that is stale on the web is Google polling that ICS feed, not a phone setting. There is no refresh button for those subscriptions. Use the subscribed calendar guide. A share that vanished on the web is a permission or admin change, not iPhone or Android sync.

When Resync helps (and when it does not)
Resync does not fix phone sync settings. It does not turn on Calendar sync, select calendars in an app menu, or refresh Apple Calendar, Samsung Calendar, or Outlook. Use the steps above for those. Use Resync when two Google calendars should stay separate, and each calendar others book should treat the other calendar's busy time as busy.
Resync reads when you are busy on Google calendars you mark as sources and writes hold events onto Google calendars you mark as mirrors. It currently syncs Google calendars only. It does not connect Outlook, Apple Calendar, or iCloud. $1.50/month or $9/year after a 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
- Holds are titled Busy. Description, location, attendees, and conference data are left empty, so source meeting details stay on the source calendar.
- When you mark calendars as both source and mirror, a booking on either calendar becomes a Busy hold on the others. That is two-way blocking between those Google calendars.
- If a source event moves, Resync updates the hold. If the event is cancelled, marked free, declined, or is a working-location event, Resync does not keep a hold.
- Resync looks 90 days ahead when it reads source events. Holds it writes are marked so they are not copied again.
- Resync watches source calendars with Google push notifications and updates holds when those events change. A polling fallback also runs about every 5 minutes.
- If you delete or edit a hold, Resync records that and does not recreate it for the same source event on that mirror.
- Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors. Resync currently syncs Google calendars only.
Set up Resync
- Sign in with GoogleOpen Resync and sign in with the Google account you want as your primary account. You land on setup.
- Connect another Google accountChoose Connect another Google account and finish Google's permission screen. Resync needs at least two Google accounts before you can start.
- Start syncingWhen a second account is connected, setup shows bidirectional mirroring as the intended default: real events on either side become private busy blocks on the other. Choose Start syncing to open the dashboard.
- Mark sources and mirrorsIn Sync configuration, turn on Source to read busy time from a calendar and Mirror to receive Busy holds. A calendar can be both. Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors because Resync needs write access to create holds.
FAQ
Why is Google Calendar not syncing?
First check calendar.google.com in a browser. If events are right there but missing on one phone or app, it is a device sync problem: the right Google account, Calendar sync turned on for that account, and that calendar selected or visible. Shared and secondary calendars often need to be turned on separately. If the events are also missing on the web, the source is the problem: a From URL subscription on Google's refresh schedule, a shared calendar whose permission was removed, or another app that only syncs one way.
Why is Google Calendar not syncing with iPhone or the iPhone Calendar app?
The Google Calendar app and Apple Calendar are different apps. For the Google Calendar app, Google Calendar Help says to check your internet connection, update the app, make sure the calendar is visible in the menu, and confirm events are on a Google account. You can also remove the account from the app and add it again. For Apple Calendar, add Google in Settings. Current iOS documents Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts. Google Calendar Help still documents Settings → Calendar → Accounts. Turn Calendars on for that Google account, then tap Calendars in the Calendar app and check the calendar. Shared calendars that are not under My calendars may also need Google's Calendar sync page.
Why are some or shared Google calendars not syncing with iPhone?
Google Calendar Help says calendars under My calendars, plus Birthdays, sync to Apple Calendar automatically. Other calendars, including many shared calendars, need the Calendar sync page: check the calendar, save, then refresh Apple Calendar. In Apple Calendar, the calendar must also be checked in the Calendars list. If the owner only granted See only free/busy, Google Calendar Help does not say that calendar will sync to Apple Calendar. Use the Google Calendar app for those overlays, or ask the owner to grant See event details if that is allowed.
Why is Google Calendar not syncing with Android or Samsung Calendar?
On Android, Google Calendar Help says to turn Calendar on under the Google account's Account sync, then in the Calendar app open Menu → Settings, find the calendar (Show more if needed), and turn Sync on. That Sync control is for calendars you created, not the primary Events calendar. Tap Menu → Refresh to sync now. Samsung Calendar is a different app. Samsung Support documents Accounts and backup → Manage accounts, Auto sync, the Google account's Sync account setting, and Manage calendars in the Samsung Calendar menu. Resync does not change those phone settings.
Why is Google Calendar not syncing with Outlook or Apple Calendar on a Mac?
Those apps are not the Google Calendar app. Microsoft documents a Google iCal subscription in Outlook: it is one-way, and Outlook on the web can take more than 24 hours to refresh. Apple Support documents Calendar → Add Account → Google on a Mac, then Refresh Calendars. Google Calendar Help documents a Calendar sync page for calendars that are not under My calendars. Resync does not connect Outlook or Apple Calendar. The Outlook guide covers ICS subscriptions in both directions.
Does Resync fix Google Calendar not syncing on my phone?
No. Resync does not change phone, Apple Calendar, Samsung Calendar, or Outlook sync settings. It reads busy time from Google calendars you mark as sources and writes holds titled Busy onto Google calendars you mark as mirrors. It currently syncs Google calendars only. $1.50/month or $9/year after a 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
Connect the Google calendars you want to keep aligned, then mark sources and mirrors on the dashboard.
Resync will ask Google for permission to:see your list of calendars; see events on the calendars you choose as Sources, to know when you're busy; and create, update and delete events titled "Busy" on calendars you choose as Mirrors. We never store event titles, attendees or locations. Privacy policy
