See Google calendars in Samsung Calendar
Samsung Calendar is not the Google Calendar app. It can show Google accounts next to a phone calendar or a Samsung account calendar. Samsung Support says the Calendar app can connect to online accounts such as Google, and that you add those accounts from Manage calendars.
- Open Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts. Turn Auto sync data on. Some versions label this Auto sync personal data.
- If the Google account is missing, tap Add account, then Google, and finish sign-in. You can also add it from Samsung Calendar: Menu → Manage calendars → More options → Add account → Google.
- Open the Google account, tap Sync account, and turn Calendar on. That toggle is separate from Mail, Contacts, and other Google services.
- Open Samsung Calendar, tap Menu, then Manage calendars, and show each Google calendar. Samsung Support documents switches next to categories such as My phone, Samsung account, Google, or App events.
Shared Google calendars that stay hidden after that may also need Google's Calendar sync page. Seeing several Google accounts together in the Google Calendar app is in the multiple-accounts guide. Keeping two Google calendars from double-booking is in the two-calendars guide.

Turn sync on or off
Turning a calendar off in Manage calendars only hides it. The Google account can still sync Calendar in the background. To stop Samsung Calendar sync with Google, change the account toggle.
- To sync: Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts → the Google account → Sync account → Calendar on, then show the calendar in Manage calendars.
- To hide one calendar: Menu → Manage calendars, then turn that Google calendar off.
- To stop Calendar sync and keep Gmail: open Sync account and turn Calendar off. Mail can stay on.
- To stop all Google sync on that phone: turn Auto sync data off, or remove the Google account. Removing the account also removes Mail and other Google services from the device.
Samsung Support documents More options → Sync now on the Google account, and Menu → Sync now inside Calendar, when you want a one-time refresh instead of waiting for Auto sync.
Fixes when it will not sync
Start with where the events are missing. If they are on calendar.google.com and only gone from Samsung Calendar, stay on the phone. If they are missing on the web too, fix the source calendar first. The not-syncing guide covers the Google Calendar app, iPhone, and desktop.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|
| Missing only in Samsung Calendar | Samsung Calendar is a different app. Auto sync, the Google account Calendar toggle, or Manage calendars may hide that Google calendar. | Confirm the events on calendar.google.com. Turn Auto sync on, enable Calendar for the Google account, then show the calendar in Menu → Manage calendars. Use Sync now. |
|---|
| Won't sync / not working | No network, Calendar sync off, a full Google storage quota, or the app has not refreshed. | Check Wi-Fi or mobile data and turn Airplane mode off. Open the Google account's Sync account list and turn Calendar on. Samsung Support documents More options → Sync now, and Menu → Sync now in Calendar. |
|---|
| Battery saver, Data saver, or background data | Battery Saver limits or turns off background activity. Data saver and blocked background data can keep Calendar from refreshing until you open the app. | Turn Battery Saver off, or exclude Calendar. On many Galaxy phones, Data saver is under Connections → Data usage. Allow background data for Calendar. Menu names vary by One UI version. |
|---|
| Event saved to My calendar | The event landed on My calendar, My phone, or a Samsung account calendar, not a Google calendar. | Open the event and check which calendar it uses. Recreate it on the Google calendar, or change the calendar field if your One UI version shows one. Confirm it on calendar.google.com. |
|---|
| New phone or tablet | The new device does not have the Google account yet, Calendar sync is off, or events lived only on the old phone. | Add the same Google account, turn Calendar sync on, and show each calendar in Manage calendars. Phone-only events do not come along. |
|---|
| Outlook missing | Outlook is a different account from Google. Samsung Calendar will not show Outlook events until that account is added. | Add Outlook from Manage calendars → Add account, or use the Outlook app. Resync does not connect Outlook. See the Outlook guide for Google-to-Outlook ICS limits. |

Missing only in Samsung Calendar
- Likely cause
- Samsung Calendar is a different app. Auto sync, the Google account Calendar toggle, or Manage calendars may hide that Google calendar.
- Fix
- Confirm the events on calendar.google.com. Turn Auto sync on, enable Calendar for the Google account, then show the calendar in Menu → Manage calendars. Use Sync now.
Won't sync / not working
- Likely cause
- No network, Calendar sync off, a full Google storage quota, or the app has not refreshed.
- Fix
- Check Wi-Fi or mobile data and turn Airplane mode off. Open the Google account's Sync account list and turn Calendar on. Samsung Support documents More options → Sync now, and Menu → Sync now in Calendar.
Battery saver, Data saver, or background data
- Likely cause
- Battery Saver limits or turns off background activity. Data saver and blocked background data can keep Calendar from refreshing until you open the app.
- Fix
- Turn Battery Saver off, or exclude Calendar. On many Galaxy phones, Data saver is under Connections → Data usage. Allow background data for Calendar. Menu names vary by One UI version.
Event saved to My calendar
- Likely cause
- The event landed on My calendar, My phone, or a Samsung account calendar, not a Google calendar.
- Fix
- Open the event and check which calendar it uses. Recreate it on the Google calendar, or change the calendar field if your One UI version shows one. Confirm it on calendar.google.com.
New phone or tablet
- Likely cause
- The new device does not have the Google account yet, Calendar sync is off, or events lived only on the old phone.
- Fix
- Add the same Google account, turn Calendar sync on, and show each calendar in Manage calendars. Phone-only events do not come along.
Outlook missing
- Likely cause
- Outlook is a different account from Google. Samsung Calendar will not show Outlook events until that account is added.
- Fix
- Add Outlook from Manage calendars → Add account, or use the Outlook app. Resync does not connect Outlook. See the Outlook guide for Google-to-Outlook ICS limits.
- Check Wi-Fi or mobile data. Turn Airplane mode off. Samsung Support starts here before account settings.
- Turn Auto sync data on, then open the Google account, tap Sync account, and turn Calendar on. Use More options → Sync now.
- In Samsung Calendar, tap Menu → Sync now, then Menu → Manage calendars and show the Google calendar.
- Turn Battery Saver off, or exclude Calendar. Android Help says Battery Saver limits or turns off background activity, so some apps may be delayed. On many Galaxy phones, look under Settings → Battery and device care. Data saver and blocked background data can keep Calendar from refreshing until you open the app. One UI often puts Data saver under Settings → Connections → Data usage.
- Turn Set time automatically on. Android Help documents date and time as an account-sync troubleshooting step. A wrong clock can make events look shifted or missing. Samsung Calendar Help does not list this as a Calendar-only step.
- If those fail, Samsung Support documents Settings → Apps → Calendar → Force stop, then Storage → Clear data. Some One UI versions also show Clear cache. Clearing data resets the app's local store; Google events should return after the account syncs again. Google Calendar Help documents a similar Calendar storage step for the Google Calendar app.
- Remove the Google account and add it again. Samsung Support documents Manage accounts → the Google account → Remove account, then Add account → Google. You will need that account's password.
Samsung Support also notes that a full Google storage quota can stop new Google data from syncing. If calendar.google.com itself is missing events, the not-syncing guide covers the Google side.

Phone-only events vs Google
A common reason Samsung Calendar looks fine on one phone and empty everywhere else is the calendar the event was saved to. Google Calendar Help says if you add an event to a calendar that is not associated with your Google Account, it might not show up in the Calendar app or on calendar.google.com.
- My calendar, My phone, or a Samsung account calendar is phone-only or Samsung-account-only. One UI uses more than one name for that local calendar.
- A Google calendar is the one that appears on calendar.google.com and on other devices signed into that account.
- Google Calendar Help also documents a local account as a calendar saved on your phone or created by another app. That on-device calendar stays on the old phone unless you export it.
Samsung Support does not document a one-click move from My calendar to Google. Open the event and look for a calendar field. If you can change it to the Google calendar, save and confirm the event on calendar.google.com. If there is no calendar field, create the event again on the Google calendar and delete the phone-only copy. When you create a new event, check the calendar name before you tap Save.
Adding another Google account from the Google Calendar app is in the Add another account help. Resync does not move phone-only events onto Google.
New phone and tablet
A new Galaxy phone or tablet does not inherit Google Calendar events until you add the Google account and turn Calendar sync on. Events that already exist on calendar.google.com should appear after you show those calendars in Manage calendars. Events that lived only on the old phone do not.
- Add the same Google account in Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts, or from Calendar → Manage calendars → Add account.
- Turn Auto sync data on, then turn Calendar on under Sync account. Use Sync now if the grid is still empty.
- A phone and a tablet stay in sync only for calendars that live on the Google account. A My calendar or Samsung account calendar on the phone does not appear on the tablet.
If you also use the Google Calendar app on the new phone, add the account there too and select each calendar in the app menu. Resync does not set up a new phone and does not copy device-only calendars.
Outlook
Samsung Support says the Calendar app can connect to online accounts such as Google or Outlook. That is a separate account from Google. Add it from Menu → Manage calendars → More options → Add account, then choose Outlook and finish sign-in. You can also use the Outlook app and add the Microsoft account there.
Seeing a Google calendar inside Outlook on a computer is a different path. Microsoft documents a Google iCal subscription: it is one-way and can be delayed. The full ICS steps are in the Outlook guide. Putting an Outlook calendar into Google Calendar is in Sync Outlook Calendar with Google Calendar. Resync does not connect Outlook.

When Resync helps (and when it does not)
Resync works only with Google Calendar accounts. It does not read Samsung Calendar, phone-only My calendar events, Outlook, Apple Calendar, or iCloud. Use the official steps above to see Google in Samsung Calendar. Use Resync only if the real goal is keeping several Google calendars or Google accounts in sync.
If Samsung Calendar is just showing Google accounts and you want those Google calendars to block each other, Resync can do that on the Google side. It reads when you are busy on Google calendars you mark as sources and writes hold events onto Google calendars you mark as mirrors. Those Busy holds then appear in Samsung Calendar through the Google account like any Google event. $1.50/month or $9/year after a 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
- Holds are titled Busy. Description, location, attendees, and conference data are left empty, so source meeting details stay on the source calendar.
- When you mark calendars as both source and mirror, a booking on either calendar becomes a Busy hold on the others. That is two-way blocking between those Google calendars.
- If a source event moves, Resync updates the hold. If the event is cancelled, marked free, declined, or is a working-location event, Resync does not keep a hold.
- Resync looks 90 days ahead when it reads source events. Holds it writes are marked so they are not copied again.
- Resync watches source calendars with Google push notifications and updates holds when those events change. A polling fallback also runs about every 5 minutes.
- If you delete or edit a hold, Resync records that and does not recreate it for the same source event on that mirror.
- Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors. Resync currently syncs Google calendars only.
Set up Resync
- Sign in with GoogleOpen Resync and sign in with the Google account you want as your primary account. You land on setup.
- Connect another Google accountChoose Connect another Google account and finish Google's permission screen. Resync needs at least two Google accounts before you can start.
- Start syncingWhen a second account is connected, setup shows bidirectional mirroring as the intended default: real events on either side become private busy blocks on the other. Choose Start syncing to open the dashboard.
- Mark sources and mirrorsIn Sync configuration, turn on Source to read busy time from a calendar and Mirror to receive Busy holds. A calendar can be both. Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors because Resync needs write access to create holds. Those Busy holds then appear in Samsung Calendar through the Google account, like any other Google event.
FAQ
Does Samsung Calendar sync with Google Calendar?
Yes, after you add the Google account and turn Calendar sync on. Samsung Calendar is not the Google Calendar app. Samsung Support documents adding Google from Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts, or from Calendar → Menu → Manage calendars → Add account. Then show each Google calendar in Manage calendars. Gmail is the same Google account; Calendar is a separate sync toggle from Mail. One UI menu names vary by version.
How do I sync Samsung Calendar with my Google account or Gmail?
Add the Google account on the phone, turn Calendar on under that account's sync settings, then show the calendar in Samsung Calendar. Open Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts (some versions say Manage account). Turn Auto sync data on. Open the Google account, tap Sync account, and turn Calendar on. In Samsung Calendar, tap Menu → Manage calendars and show each Google calendar. Signing into Gmail alone does not turn Calendar sync on.
Why is Samsung Calendar not syncing with Google, or why won't it sync?
First check calendar.google.com. If events are right there but missing in Samsung Calendar, stay on the phone: Auto sync, the Google account Calendar toggle, Sync now, and Manage calendars. Battery Saver, Data saver, and blocked background data can delay or stop refresh. A wrong date or time can make events look shifted. Samsung Support also documents Force stop, then clear Calendar storage. If the event was saved to My calendar, My phone, or a Samsung account calendar, it is not on Google and will not appear on other devices.
How do I stop Samsung Calendar sync with Google?
To hide a Google calendar without removing the account, turn it off in Menu → Manage calendars. To stop Calendar sync and keep the Google account, open Settings → Accounts and backup → Manage accounts, open the Google account, tap Sync account, and turn Calendar off. To stop all Google sync, turn Auto sync data off, or remove the Google account. Removing the account also removes Mail and other Google services from that phone.
Why is Samsung Calendar not syncing to a new phone, tablet, or between devices?
A new Galaxy phone or tablet does not inherit Google events until you add the same Google account and turn Calendar sync on. Events that already exist on calendar.google.com should appear after you show those calendars in Manage calendars. Phone-only events from My calendar, My phone, or a Samsung account calendar stay on the old device. A tablet and a phone stay in sync only for calendars that live on the Google account, not for device-only calendars.
Can I sync Samsung Calendar with Outlook, and does Resync sync Samsung Calendar?
Samsung Support says the Calendar app can connect to online accounts such as Google or Outlook. Add Outlook from Menu → Manage calendars → Add account, or use the Outlook app. That is separate from Google. Resync does not read Samsung Calendar, phone-only device calendars, or Outlook. It mirrors busy time between Google calendars server-side, so those Busy holds show up in Samsung Calendar through the Google account like any Google event. $1.50/month or $9/year after a 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
Connect the Google calendars you want to keep aligned, then mark sources and mirrors on the dashboard.
Resync will ask Google for permission to:see your list of calendars; see events on the calendars you choose as Sources, to know when you're busy; and create, update and delete events titled "Busy" on calendars you choose as Mirrors. We never store event titles, attendees or locations. Privacy policy
