Export on a computer
Google Calendar Help documents two ways to export events from your Google Calendar: every calendar you can export, or one calendar. Both produce iCalendar files. Both are computer-only.
Export all calendars
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- At the top right, click Settings.
- On the left, click Import & export.
- Under Export, click Export. A .zip file downloads to your computer.
Help's tip: to import those files back into Google Calendar, open the .zip to access the individual .ics files. That import path is in the Import ICS into Google Calendar guide.
Export one calendar
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left, under My calendars, find the calendar you want to export.
- Point to the calendar name.
- Click More, then Settings and sharing.
- Under Calendar settings, click Export calendar. An .ics file downloads to your computer.
You must have Make changes and manage sharing for that calendar. If you use Calendar through work, school, or another organization, your administrator may restrict export. If you cannot export, contact your administrator.

What the export includes
Export events Help describes a copy of your events as .ics. It does not list every field in that file. A separate Export your data from Google Calendar page lists what a Calendar archive includes. Google Tasks are a different download.
| Item | In the export? | What Help documents |
|---|
| Calendars you can manage | Yes, if you can export them | Export events Help says you must have Make changes and manage sharing for the calendar you want to export. That includes calendars you own and calendars someone shared with that permission. |
|---|
| Subscribed or Other calendars | Usually no | Help does not say subscribed or Other calendars are in the zip. If you only have See event details or See only free/busy, you do not have the permission Help requires, so that calendar is left out. |
|---|
| Events on an exported calendar | A copy, as .ics | Export events Help describes a copy of your events as an .ics file you can import into other calendar apps. It does not list every field in that file. |
|---|
| Takeout calendar archive | Separate download | Export your data from Google Calendar lists what a Calendar archive includes in iCalendar format: start and end time, recurring-event frequency, invitees and responses, title, description, location, and created and last modified times. |
|---|
| Google Tasks | No | Tasks are not listed on the Export events page. Export your data from Google Tasks is a separate download for task titles, due dates, lists, and related fields. |

Takeout calendar archive
- In the export?
- Separate download

Google Tasks
- In the export?
- No
- What Help documents
- Tasks are not listed on the Export events page. Export your data from Google Tasks is a separate download for task titles, due dates, lists, and related fields.
An export is a snapshot. Later changes on the original calendar do not update the downloaded file. If you want another Google account to keep seeing the same calendar, share it instead of exporting.

Export to CSV, Excel, or Sheets
Google Calendar Help documents export as .ics only. There is no CSV, Excel, or Google Sheets export in Settings. Two documented or local options:
- Convert an .ics file to CSV in your browser on this page. The file never leaves the browser. There is no upload and no network call. Columns are Subject, Start Date, Start Time, End Date, End Time, All Day Event, Description, and Location — the English headers Import events to Google Calendar accepts, minus Private. All-day DATE values become True with empty times. UTC times with a Z stay in UTC. TZID times are kept as written. Folded lines and escaped commas, semicolons, and newlines are decoded. A repeating event stays one master row. Repeats are not expanded. Then open the CSV in Excel, or import it into Google Sheets.
- For a date range you can see, print your calendar and choose Save as PDF.
If you later want those CSV rows back in Google Calendar, use the Import CSV into Google Calendar guide. Import is a one-time copy. Guests and conference data are not imported.

Date range, one event, or PDF
Export events Help does not document a date-range export or a way to export one event as .ics. The Settings export is the whole calendar you selected.
- Print a range: on a computer, pick Day, Week, Month, Schedule, or 4 days, then Settings menu, Print. On the print dialog, choose Save as PDF. Print Help documents this as a way to print your calendar for a specific date range. Full steps for font size, weekends, Save as PDF, and printing from a phone are in How to print Google Calendar (Day, Week, Month, Schedule, and PDF).
- Filter a spreadsheet: export the calendar, convert the .ics to CSV below, then filter Start Date in Excel or Sheets. That filter is in the spreadsheet, not in Google Calendar.
- One event: Help does not document an Export this event control. Export the calendar and keep the matching row, or print Day view for that date.

Outlook and Apple Calendar
Export plus import is a one-time snapshot. The downloaded .ics does not stay in sync with Google Calendar. For a live view, use the subscribe paths in those guides instead.
If a public iCal address shows Feed processing error, Export events Help says to use the secret address in iCal format instead. That is the subscribe path, not the zip export. The Google Calendar iCal link guide covers those addresses.

Export not working
If Export is missing, the zip looks wrong, or times look off after you convert, start with what Help documents.
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|
| Export button missing on phone | Export events Help says you can't export from the Google Calendar app. You can only export on a computer from Google Calendar. | Open calendar.google.com on a computer. Use Settings, then Import & export, or open Settings and sharing for one calendar and click Export calendar. |
|---|
| Zip has many files | Exporting all calendars downloads a .zip. Help says that zip holds individual .ics files. Each file is one calendar you were able to export. | Open the zip, then use the .ics you need. To import back into Google Calendar, Help says you must open the zip and import each .ics on its own. This page's converter also reads one .ics at a time. |
|---|
| Calendar missing from the export | Help requires Make changes and manage sharing. A subscribed calendar, a holiday calendar, or a calendar shared as See event details does not meet that permission. Work or school admins can also restrict export. | Check Settings and sharing for that calendar. If you do not own it, ask the owner for Make changes and manage sharing, or ask them to export it. If Export is missing on a work or school account, contact your administrator. |
|---|
| Empty file | The calendar you exported may have no events, or you opened the zip instead of an .ics inside it. Help does not document a separate empty-file error. | Open the zip first. Confirm you exported the calendar that has events. Check that calendar in Google Calendar on a computer. If every export is empty on a work or school account, ask your administrator whether export is restricted. |
|---|
| Time zone looks off after converting | Google exports timed events as UTC (a Z suffix) or with a TZID. This page keeps TZID clock times as written and treats Z times as UTC. That can look different from the time you see in Calendar. | Compare the .ics value to Calendar. Check Change your time zone if the web calendar itself looks wrong. Excel or Sheets may also parse the time column as a number. Keep the Start Time and End Time columns as text if that happens. |

Export button missing on phone
- Likely cause
- Export events Help says you can't export from the Google Calendar app. You can only export on a computer from Google Calendar.
- Fix
- Open calendar.google.com on a computer. Use Settings, then Import & export, or open Settings and sharing for one calendar and click Export calendar.
Zip has many files
- Likely cause
- Exporting all calendars downloads a .zip. Help says that zip holds individual .ics files. Each file is one calendar you were able to export.
- Fix
- Open the zip, then use the .ics you need. To import back into Google Calendar, Help says you must open the zip and import each .ics on its own. This page's converter also reads one .ics at a time.
Calendar missing from the export
- Likely cause
- Help requires Make changes and manage sharing. A subscribed calendar, a holiday calendar, or a calendar shared as See event details does not meet that permission. Work or school admins can also restrict export.
- Fix
- Check Settings and sharing for that calendar. If you do not own it, ask the owner for Make changes and manage sharing, or ask them to export it. If Export is missing on a work or school account, contact your administrator.
Empty file
- Likely cause
- The calendar you exported may have no events, or you opened the zip instead of an .ics inside it. Help does not document a separate empty-file error.
- Fix
- Open the zip first. Confirm you exported the calendar that has events. Check that calendar in Google Calendar on a computer. If every export is empty on a work or school account, ask your administrator whether export is restricted.
Time zone looks off after converting
- Likely cause
- Google exports timed events as UTC (a Z suffix) or with a TZID. This page keeps TZID clock times as written and treats Z times as UTC. That can look different from the time you see in Calendar.
- Fix
- Compare the .ics value to Calendar. Check Change your time zone if the web calendar itself looks wrong. Excel or Sheets may also parse the time column as a number. Keep the Start Time and End Time columns as text if that happens.
For times that look wrong in Calendar itself, also check Change your time zone.

How Resync fits
Use an export when you want a snapshot: a backup, a spreadsheet, or a one-time copy in another app. An export does not stay updated. Resync does not export calendars, convert ICS files, or write CSV. It currently syncs Google calendars only. It does not sync Outlook, Apple Calendar, or iCloud.
Use Resync when you keep more than one Google account and busy time on one should block time on another without sharing titles. Resync uses the Google Calendar API with the accounts you connect. It writes Google-only private Busy holds. Holds are titled Busy. $1.50/month or $9/year after a 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
- Resync lists calendars Google returns for each connected account. It hides calendars Google marks hidden. It does not take an ICS file, a CSV file, or an ICS URL.
- You mark Source on the calendars to read and Mirror on the calendars that should receive holds. Resync does not automatically export a file.
- Holds are titled Busy. Description, location, attendees, and conference data are left empty, so source meeting details stay on the source calendar.
- Each hold occupies the time. Resync sets that availability on the hold. It does not copy the source title.
- If a source event moves, Resync updates the hold. If the event is cancelled, marked free, declined, or is a working-location event, Resync does not keep a hold.
- Resync looks 90 days ahead when it reads source events. It watches source calendars with Google push notifications and updates holds when those events change. A polling fallback also runs about every 5 minutes. Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors. Resync currently syncs Google calendars only.
- If you delete or edit a hold, Resync records that and does not recreate it for the same source event on that mirror.
- If the source event is Private, the hold is Private. Otherwise the hold uses default visibility.
Set up Resync
- Sign in with GoogleOpen Resync and sign in with the Google account you want as your primary account. You land on setup.
- Connect another Google accountChoose Connect another Google account and finish Google's permission screen. Resync needs at least two Google accounts before you can start.
- Start syncingWhen a second account is connected, setup shows bidirectional mirroring as the intended default: real events on either side become private busy blocks on the other. Choose Start syncing to open the dashboard.
- Mark sources and mirrorsIn Sync configuration, turn on Source to read busy time from a calendar and Mirror to receive Busy holds. A calendar can be both. Read-only calendars cannot be mirrors because Resync needs write access to create holds. An export is a snapshot. Resync does not take an ICS or CSV file.
FAQ
How do I export Google Calendar?
On a computer, open Google Calendar, click Settings, then Import & export. Under Export, click Export. A .zip downloads with one .ics file per calendar you can export. To export one calendar, open its Settings and sharing page and click Export calendar. Google Calendar Help says you can only export on a computer, not in the Calendar app, and you need Make changes and manage sharing on that calendar. Work or school admins can restrict export.
Can I export Google Calendar to CSV, Excel, or Google Sheets?
Google Calendar Help documents export as iCalendar (.ics) only. There is no CSV, Excel, or Sheets export in Settings. Convert an .ics file to CSV in your browser on this page, then open that CSV in Excel or import it into Google Sheets. The file stays in your browser. Repeating events stay as one master row. Print Help documents saving a date range as a PDF from Print.
Can I export Google Calendar for a date range or one event?
Export events Help does not document a date-range filter or a single-event export. The Settings export is a copy of the calendar as .ics. To save a visible range, Print Help says to pick Day, Week, Month, Schedule, or 4 days, then Print, and choose Save as PDF. After you convert an .ics to CSV, you can filter rows by date in a spreadsheet. Help does not document an Export this event button.
Why can't I export Google Calendar on my phone?
Google Calendar Help says you can't export from the Google Calendar app. You can only export on a computer from Google Calendar. Open calendar.google.com on a computer, then use Settings, Import & export, or a calendar's Settings and sharing page. If you use a work or school account and Export is missing on a computer too, Help says your administrator may restrict export settings.
Are Google Tasks included when I export my calendar?
Export events Help covers calendar events as .ics. It does not list Tasks in that download. Google Calendar Help has a separate Export your data from Google Tasks page. That Tasks archive is not the Settings calendar export. Use that Tasks download if you need task titles, due dates, and lists.
Does Resync export my Google Calendar?
No. Resync does not export calendars, convert ICS files, or write CSV. An export is a snapshot. If you keep more than one Google account and want busy time to stay in sync, Resync uses the Google Calendar API with accounts you connect and writes private holds titled Busy. Description, location, attendees, and conference data stay empty. $1.50/month or $9/year after a 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
Connect the Google calendars you want to keep aligned, then mark sources and mirrors on the dashboard.
Resync will ask Google for permission to:see your list of calendars; see events on the calendars you choose as Sources, to know when you're busy; and create, update and delete events titled "Busy" on calendars you choose as Mirrors. We never store event titles, attendees or locations. Privacy policy
